Who Is Alluring Confidence?

Hi Dolls I wanted to put together a fun get to know me blog for you, but instead of just reading what I have to say I thought I would also show you some photos.
I hope you enjoy it.

About Me
My name is Jodi Thomas I'm 26 years old and I live in Kentucky with my two dogs Pepper and Brittany. I have a passion for fashion, makeup, jewelry and SHOES!!! I'm a shopaholic if I had a million dollars I could spend half of it at Bath and Body Works and the other half at TJ Maxx I love those stores.

I have spent over 18 years of my life dedicated to the world of pageants, competing all around the United States on a state, national and international level. In the past 5 years I have turned to the other side of pageantry and became a judge and emcee I even stated my own national pageant system.

I am a graduate of John Robert Powers school of modeling and acting. The photos above was for my Zed cards that I would give to the directors or agents when I would go on casting calls. So let me tell you the story behind these photos, this photo shoot took a little over 14 and a half hours!!! The photos in the blue sweater was taken outside and the sun was going down so that was an issue in itself. But the photos in the orange sweater was the worse, I had to get in this tiny tiny box that had 3 walls the back wall had the background built in. Ok so I'm in this tiny box for about 3 hours and the makeup artist comes to do a touch up and the photographer says Oh I don't have a memory card in my camera, WHAT r u kidding me!!!! I was so thrilled when that photo shoot was over.

What I love
I'm crazy about Elvis I'm obsessed with Bath and Body Works and I have way to many nail polishes. I love collecting Juicy couture charms they are so adorable I love Betsey Johnson jewelry and I buy way to much makeup, and I have way to many pairs of shoes but can a girl really have to many pairs of shoes?

My Family
I couldn't have asked for a better family they are amazing and I love them very much.

I was blessed with two of the most amazing parents a girl could ask for, they are so supportive of everything I do. I couldn't have asked for better parents, I don't know what I would do without them.

I have one amazing sister Jeana even though she's older then me we are very close.

I have one brother Matthew even though I don't get to see him as often as I would like to we still have a close bond.

I have one niece and two nephews that I adore, I became an aunt at the age of three. My niece and I are extremely close I call her my other half. My niece Courtney is 3 years younger then me my oldest nephew Chris is 20 and my youngest nephew Matthew is 12.

I'm a mom of 2, fur babies that is lol this is Pepper she's a jack Russel/dachshund mix. I rescued her from our local humane society when she was 11 month old now shes 6 years old!

3 Months after getting Pepper my aunt surprised me for my 21st birthday with this little cutie. This is Brittany shes a miniature shih tzu and I've had her since she was 3 months old shes now 5, they grow up so fast lol.

This blog post wouldn't be complete without me telling you about the person that has meant the world to me and that's my mamaw. She was called home 8 years ago last month (October) after a battle with cancer, not a day has went by in the past 8 years that I haven't thought about her. Everyone tells you that it gets easier each day and for the most part I think that's true, but that doesn't mean that you forget about them or that you don't still get emotional when their names brought up. 8 years later and I still get emotional when I talk about my mamaw or I see photos of her but I think that's only natural when you lose someone that you was really close to. I have so many great memories with my mamaw that I will always treasure. She loved the lord more then anything and that gives me so much peace knowing were she is today, and that I will one day be reunited with her in heaven.

If theirs anything that you ever take with you from my blog I hope that its this, never take life for granite and live every day to the fullest. Spend as much time as you can with your family and make as many memories as possible because that's what you will treasure forever. When my mamaw passed away I learned just that because when the day comes and our loved ones are no longer here that's what you treasure the most is the memories that you made together.

I'm Back!!!

Hi Dolls after a little break from blogging I'm back! The main reason I took a break from the blog is because I was in the market to purchase a house and that was consuming a lot of my time, and I was falling behind on my blog posts. After a year of searching for the perfect house I still haven't found what I'm looking for so I thought that I would multitask and house hunt during the day and blog at night LoL. But I'm back and I'm working on new and exciting blog posts for you all, this is my favorite time of the year to blog with all the holidays coming up there's so much to blog about.

When I logged into my account I noticed that all of my previous blog posts have disappeared, I don't know what happened but if I can find them on my flash drive I will upload some of my old posts.

I'm working on a fun get to know me blog that I hope to have up sometime tomorrow so don't forget to check back soon.

Eye Makeup Fallout Protector

Do you have to apply your eye shadow first and then your foundation because of the fallout due to your eye shadow? Well ladies I’m here to tell you about an amazing invention from Nu-4u and it’s the Eye Makeup Fallout Protector. This protector is like no other and helps make your eye shadow application a breeze, without all the unnecessary touch up's.

First off how adorable is this protector? I love the butterfly and the details on the stainless steel handle. The kit comes with 1 stainless still handle (your choice of decorative or plane handle) one normal sized shield and a bonus large shield that can be used with or without the handle.

The thing I like the best about this protector is the soft silicone shield, it doesn't irritate my extremely sensitive eyes. I have done some internet searching for something similar to this protector but nothing compares to this eye shadow protector. I mean would you actually apply a self adhesive  shield under your lower lash line? In my option that's a receipt for disaster the skin under your eye is so thin, delicate and sensitive and you know removing something like that can't feel good. Don't you think a self adhesive shield would defeat its purpose? Because you know its bound to take off any foundation under your eye that you've already applied, so your going to have to do touch ups regardless.

I also seen some crazy looking mascara guards that are made of hard plastic and look like they would be hard to use. I was looking at some of the sample photos on there website and by just looking at the photos it looks painful and uncomfortable to use.

What would you rather put up to your lower lash line Soft Silicone, Hard Plastic or a Self Adhesive  Shield?

Hands down the Eye makeup Fallout Protector from Nu-4u has these other protectors beat hands down. For starters this protector comes with a life time guarantee and only costs $19.95. Are you going to get a lifetime guarantee from a hard plastic guard that cost's $10.00? I didn't think so. Disposable guards are going to run out and before you know it you've done went through 4 boxes, with that much money invested in disposable guards you could have purchased 2 fallout protectors from Nu-4u.

This shield fits perfectly under my bottom lash line and isn't bulky or hard to use at all. I'm not very coordinated and my first though was this is going to be hard for me to use but I was really surprised by how easy it was to use. If your anything like me and have a hard time lining your bottom lash line with liner then you will LOVE this protector just for that reason alone. I normally just line my water line because I have a hard time with my lash line, when playing around with this protector I though I would hold it close to my lash line and use it as a stencil and I had a perfect line around my lash area.

This protector can be used for:
Eye Shadow Fallout
Eye Liner
Mascara
Glitter
Protect your eyes from airbrush makeup
Lip Liner Stencil

Clean up is a breeze and this is how I clean my protector:
Step 1: Pop the shield out of the handle
Step 2: Take to the sink and run like warm water all over
Step 3: Apply anti bacterial cleanser
Step 4: Suds up your shield
Step 5: Rinse
Step 6: Dry
Step 7: Pop it back on your handle
and its ready for your next use.

You could also use a cotton ball and cleanser or makeup remover wipe.

I hope this review has been informative and helpful and who know maybe I've introduced you to something you didn't know was available. If you would like to purchase this amazing Eye Makeup Fallout Protector please click on the Nu-4u logo below that will take you directly to their website.

Thank you so much Denise from Nu-4u for sending me this amazing product to review

Bare Minerals Get Started Kit

                                                                                                 Bare Minerals Get Started Kit

Overview:
My mom and I purchased our bare minerals kit through their website after watching their T.V special one night. At the time of purchase we was not aware that they send and bill you ever 30 days for more products, so needless to say we was both surprised when the 30 day mark came and she was billed for 2 more sets of makeup. I purchased both mine and her refill kit because it was going to take a while for her account to be credited back after a return. I gave one kit away at an event that I held and I still have another kit, that I might possible do a give a way with through my blog so keep your eyes peeled for that possibility. My suggestion would be that if you have a local Ulta or makeup store that carries the bare minerals line and your interested in trying bare minerals, to purchase it locally and not online. But if you do order online make sure that you cancel your subscription if you will not need these products ever 30 days. Our get started kit included a full size foundation, small mineral vale, small warmth all-over face color, flawless face brush, maximum coverage concealer brush and a few bonus samples. The foundation was in the click lock and go sifter.

Review:
Let me start out by telling you a little bit about my skin type. I have very sensitive and dry skin I am very blessed to not have acne prone skin, I may get a break out during that time of month other then that my face is very clear and shine free.

The first few times I wore these products I didn’t notice any facial irritation but the more I continued to wear these products I noticed when I would remove my makeup my face would get really red and tight feeling. I would have to put on a ice face mask for about 30 minutes to take away the swelling and irritation. I’m not sure if I was having an allergic reaction to the products or what because I was not changing up my facial cleansing products and the next day after wearing this makeup I would have blemishes. I also noticed my face would get really shinny through my T zone and that has never happened with any other products I have used before. So needless to say I have stopped using bare minerals face products, in the future I may give these products another try and see if my face reacts any differently.

I ordered their foundation kit in the color medium, for me I felt like the color was a good match but when I would add the warmth all over face color I would start to look way to dark and slightly orange. I have seen the next color down from the kit that I purchased and it looks to me like the warmth all over face color is the same for each kit, to me the color seems so dark. I only use a tiny bit of the warmth and it still seems to makes my face way to dark. I felt like the foundation coverage was light to medium, the one thing that I really did like about the foundation was you didn’t fell like you had on makeup at all. So with that being said I think this foundation would be absolutely perfect for the summer time. The mineral vale I liked as well because you could apply as much of this throughout the day as you would like without getting added color, I used this product throughout the day when I felt like my T zone was getting shinny. I will give their flawless face brush and maximum coverage concealer brush 3 stars, they are very soft and have been through several cleanings and have yet to shed.

If it wasn’t for the facial irritation I think I could really like these products and would leave out the warmth all over face color, for me its just not worth the facial discomfort to use these products. Since using bare minerals I asked my mom what she thought about the products and she said they wasn’t what she though they would be, and that she doesn’t use the warmth because its way to dark for her as well.

FYI:
I have used their flawless definition mascara (came as a bonus in my get started kit) and I absolutely love it, my lashes are so long and full.
